Sorry the posting's been light around here... I've been rather busy this past week trying to destroy all of cock shots Anthony Weiner has sent me on Facebook. Dude is incorrigible. I'm not sure whether to introduce Prince Fatty as a dude or a band, because seemingly it's both. But he's not the one singing. He's sort of a mastermind of sorts. And if we're being honest, I can't tell you if this album as a whole is good or awful. Haven't listened to it yet (although a quick check of the personnel would hint that it is very, very good)... but it doesn't really matter because this Cypress Hill cover is genius enough to make it worth it your while regardless...

Me and Ms. Tonegent spent quite a bit of time this weekend listening to the simulcast of the Movement Festival (or as the old folks call it, DEMF) live from Detroit on Resident Advisor which is probably the most awesome Electronic music website on the Internet tubes. The great thing about this was that, unlike the Coachella cast, they actually broadcast almost every single artist on each of the five stages LIVE. The way it should be done. Learn something, Coachella. Or just do weird shit like this. All I can say is... interesting choice. But I'm pretty sure I'm gonna skip that and go to Detroit next year, because the whole thing was pretty awesome, and Animal Collective was NOWHERE to be found. That is proper concert programming for people that actually like good music. Kudos to you, Paxahau. Anyhoo...



... the one act that I didn't know of that got my rocks off over the weekend more than any other was the horribly-named Com Truise. Really, dude? Com Truise? That's what you're going with? Really?

They are a Marvel Team-Up of two Electronic music veterans, Mark Pritchard (Global Communication, Troubleman, Jedi Knights & about 267 others) and Steve Spacek (who doesn't have as many aliases, but has done just as much with as many people). The result is one of the more unique records I've heard in a long time, the kind of record it's completely pointless to try and tag some lame genre on. Just call it some next level shit...

Write it down, take a picture, I don't give a fuuuuuuuuuck. Just do it. Because with his new one up there on the Planet Mu label, he has staked his claim as one of the best guys going. Yep, he has walked up to the big, clean, white couch of musical goodness and sprayed his man-scent all over it. Fantastic, melodic stuff that reminds me of the best of Mu-Ziq... who just happens to run the label. Boom...
