This sounds like a good party
Man, have I been slackin' this week...
So pretty much all I know about percussionist Ginger Johnson is that he was from Nigeria, got very popular in London in the '60s, and is famous for joining the Rolling Stones on stage in Hyde Park in 1969 for a particularly famous version of "Sympathy For The Devil". That sounds pretty cool... Keith might have still even had some of his original blood in his body back then. Anyhoo, I stumbled across this record some time ago, and it's a percussion-crazy African Jazz affair. Plus it's got chants. We like chants around here...
Good times, that. This record's a good one for you sample diggers, too... so get at it!
