Blog-achella '07 - The Frames (Sat.) / The Fratellis (Sat.)
It's Ireland vs. Scotland on the pitch today! Should be a hell of a match!
(Look, I gotta come up with something to liven this thing up sometimes, otherwise it's just two more "meh" indie rock bands :P )
Who they are: The Irish side, featuring a strong attack from midfield and solid play in goal, they look to force the action with long crosses and constant pressure.
What they sound like: "Is minic a gheibhean beal oscailt diog dunta!"
The Frames - Sad Songs
What I think: These guys have like six records out and I'd never heard of 'em. How "meh" is that?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Who they are: The Scottish side plays a more conservative game, with a stifling defense, although their wingers are very creative with the ball. Extremely dangerous on the set pieces, especially corners.
What they sound like: "Did you cowp mah pint, ya bastard? Any mair ay yer cheek an' ye'll get a cuddy lug, ye wee cunt!"
What I think: I dig this song, especially the groovy little coda at the end. Apple always does pick decent indie rawk trax for their iPod ads, don't they? Still kinda "meh", though, if you think about it.
Prediction: Nil/nil tie. Meh.
I promise I'll have something constructive to say tomorrow. No, really...
